NEW LEAD INTO EAST END OF BLUE ISLAND YARD COMPLETED IHB’s new #5 Lead at Blue Island from Stewart Avenue to Indiana Avenue was completed on August 10, 2000. The completed project allows for simultaneous moves in and out of the East End of Blue Island Yard, which will relieve congestion between Blue Island and Calumet Park. This new Lead allows for four routes either in, out or around Blue Island Yard on the East End cutting down on delays to trains allowing for more efficient train operations. |
